CareFirst is the source for excellent care and support that enable individuals to cope with serious illness and all that comes with it. We provide hospice, palliative care, and grief services. We embrace families by respecting and empowering them to remain together at home. CareFirst strengthens our community by providing education to individuals and organizations in the Chemung, Schuyler, and Steuben counties in New York State.Started by a dedicated team of compassionate volunteers in 1981, CareFirst is the only not for profit hospice, palliative care, and grief service provider in Chemung, Schuyler, and Steuben counties. Our staff and volunteers feel privileged and honored to be welcomed into nearly 90 homes each and every day, providing the most intimate, dignified care that you and your family deserve. Hospice is not a place, nor is it an end.Hospice is about people. People who have less than six months to live. It’s also for people who love and support those that are dying. Yes, CareFirst cares for individuals in their final weeks, days, hours...yet we also care for those left behind...for over a year after a loved one passes away.
